STRUCTURAL WATERPROOFING
There are numerous systems, products and techniques available to structurally waterproof a given property, building, lift pit, swimming pool etc. Subject to the product and specification selected structural waterproofing can be completed internally, externally or as an 'integrated' part of the structure.
All of the various products and techniques have potential advantages and disadvantages when directly comparing to each other.
When designing and selecting a system the choice of product and the technique used should consider various factors, a limited example of which are detailed below:
Type of construction / structure
Clients requirements
Anticipated usage of the structurally waterproofed area
External ground conditions / water table
Form and feasibility of any remedial works
Risks associated with choosen system
Maintenance of the installed system, etc ..
